Our engineer Florence Browning joined the panel to explore how materials like porcelain, brick and timber can be used in smarter, more sustainable ways.
The panel, chaired by Pete Jennings of Smiths, also featured Alexis Harrison of Arup, and Sanne Visser of Sanne Visser Studio. Each speaker brought a unique view on how we can rethink the materials we rely on every day.
Florence was invited to take part following our work on a bespoke porcelain dining table created for the Solus space. The design uses large format tiles slotted together to form a stable structure, without adhesives or fixings. It was built with simplicity in mind and celebrates the raw, unprocessed qualities of the material.
Thanks to everyone who came along, and to Solus and Smiths for including us in the conversation.
