Florence Browning

CEng MEng (Hons)Â MIStructE
Florence has been a part of our team since 2019, joining originally as an architect before moving into the structural engineering. During this time, she has played a key role in delivering a wide scope of projects, including large social housing developments, commercial refurbishment and extension projects, and several complex airport projects. Her experience includes designing with a range of materials, including timber, steel, concrete, and post-tensioned stone.
Florence enjoys the challenge of working with existing buildings, developing structural engineering solutions that maximise existing structures and realise the architectural intentions, often requiring creative and innovative solutions with close collaboration with the design team. She is a strong advocate for sustainability in engineering and is a core member of our internal climate action taskforce, pushing to rethink the way we approach structural design and specify materials. Florence also leads our training and development team, helping support junior engineers working towards their chartership.
Florence graduated from University of Sheffield in 2016, having gained her Master’s in Structural Engineering and Architecture, and went on to gain early experience within a small UK-based engineering practice. She became a chartered member of the Institution of Structural Engineers in 2022.
