We are thrilled to share that it today has been announced that the redevelopment of Pilgrim Street for Pilgrim Street London Real Estate SARL wins planning approval.

With a sustainable agenda and targeting BREEAM Excellent, the full refurbishment and extension of the building is now underway and comprises a complete remodelling of the ground floor reception and entrance, the infill of an existing atrium to accommodate and extension on the 7th floor, new terraces on upper floors and new lifts, WCs and shower facilities across the building.

Our structural design proposals re-use as much of the existing structure as possible – the new rooftop extension uses an exposed steel frame with engineered timber infill joists and panels, which limits the weight applied to the existing structure and avoids the need for any strengthening works. The timber roof is left exposed – with the timber acting as both a structural element and the finish – minimising material use as much as possible.

The result will be an inclusive and future-proof workspace, that maximises lettable floor area for the client, and aligns to the UK’s Net Zero 2050 ambitions.

Alongside Stiff + Trevillion, exigere, Simten, Ashfold, Atelier Ten, and Orsa we’re proud to deliver this project and looking forward to seeing the project through to completion with the team.
