Webb Yates Engineers — Sum Yan Wong

Since joining Webb Yates Engineers in 2023, Sum Yan has led the mechanical engineering of number of challenging projects, including the refurbishment of a historic building in the Strand Conservation Area for the London School of Economics and Political Science, a project involving the replacement of existing gas powered plant with a more energy efficient air source heat pump plant.

Sum Yan has widespread knowledge of heating, cooling and ventilation systems, having delivered designs across a vast range of project types, and has experience coordinating both multidisciplinary designs, as well as works on site. He also has sound experience in swimming pool and water feature filtration system designs.

He graduated from the University of Liverpool with a Masters in 2012, and subsequently gained varied project experience with two large multi-disciplinary engineering firms. His experience under this previous employment has included two new high-end hotels in Hong Kong, providing a total of 450 rooms above four storey podium levels comprising leisure facilities, and a cultural public realm development within West Kowloon Cultural District, encompassing a 600-seat theatre, 200-space interfacing car park, and blackwater pumping station.
