Since joining Webb Yates Engineers in 2023, Ruby has worked on a wide range of projects. She has growing experience with low-carbon materials such as timber and stone, notably from work on post-tensioned and cantilever stone staircases. She has ongoing competency with modelling complex geometries, combining skills across Oasys GSA, Rhino and Grasshopper.
She is a member of Webb Yates’ internal climate-focused task force, which aims to promote a sustainable approach to engineering both within and outside of the company. She is passionate about sustainable construction, with particular interests in building conservation, material reuse and retrofitting.
Ruby graduated from the University of Sheffield with a masters in Civil Engineering in 2022. During her education, she gained valuable experience through summer placements with both small and large-scale engineering companies. During this time, she was involved in several rewarding projects, including a ten-storey office and retail building in central London and two railway networks.
