Webb Yates Engineers — John Gerrard

John joined Webb Yates Engineers in 2019 and is one of our Directors. He works across several of our engineering teams, responsible for projects across the residential, commercial and education sectors. John has worked on a range of refurbishment projects giving historical buildings a new lease of life. His current project experience includes designs for upgrading the facilities at the Grade 1 listed Highgate Cemetery and proposals for a new multi-purpose teaching and administration building in Oxford.

John has a passion for fostering strong working relationships with architects and other members of the design team and takes a hands-on approach throughout all stages of a project.

Under previous employment, John led the team responsible for the Living Planet Centre, a new headquarters for WWF-UK, as well as a number of education and housing projects utilising modern methods of construction. Prior to this, he ran a team working on a variety of projects which included proposals for the redevelopment of Tottenham Court Road Underground Station. John’s first project after he moved to London was the Challenge of Materials Bridge in the Science Museum.
