Webb Yates Engineers — James Hall

Since joining Webb Yates in 2025, James’ work has included the assessment of radar communications towers, the development of a raised walkway for a London university campus, and the appraisal of a community library scheme. His work reflects a growing expertise in both refurbishment and new-build projects, with a particular focus on practical and efficient structural solutions.

James is passionate about low-carbon design and the integration of circular economy principles in engineering. He is especially interested in exploring how these approaches can be applied to both retrofit and new-build projects to minimise environmental impact and promote sustainable construction practices.

He graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2024 with a master’s degree in Structural Engineering and Architecture. During his studies, James gained valuable industry experience through placements at several engineering firms, where he developed proficiency in analysis software including GSA and ETABS. His placement work included involvement in notable projects such as a 50-storey residential tower and the redevelopment of a London office building.
