Anna Alderson
Engineer
MEng
Anna joined Webb Yates in 2022. Her work includes the mass timber design for a £70m private residence in Oxfordshire, an 8,000 m² steel and glulam office building in central London, and the replacement of rooftop plant rooms on a 1970s educational building. She has worked across both new-build and refurbishment projects, with experience using low carbon materials such as timber, hempcrete, and unfired clay blocks. This includes the renovation and reuse of an existing office, and the conversion of a warehouse dating from the 1890s.
Alongside project work, Anna contributes to research and development initiatives, including ongoing exploration into hempcrete construction. She continues to develop her approach to the design and detailing of timber, steel, and concrete structures, and has undertaken modelling and analysis for a large-scale timber sculpture currently in development. She is also involved in the practice’s work experience programme, mentoring students during their time with the team.
Anna graduated from the University of Bath with a master’s degree in civil engineering, where she developed an early interest in sustainable design.
