Led by Intervention architect, the parks were co-designed with the National Trust and the local communities. Our team provided structural engineering consultancy for the projects, which introduced a mixture of landscaping and timber pavilion structures into underused spaces. The designs celebrate local history and incorporate colourful, edible, and low-maintenance plants that encourage biodiversity, providing a welcoming space for socialising, relaxation and connecting with nature.
The project forms part of the National Trusts ambition to address unequal access to nature, beauty and history in towns and cities, with East Birmingham identified as a priority area to improve access to quality green space.
