Celebrating the recognition of four of our projects at the Wood Awards ceremony last week.
The projects recognised, pictured below, are:
Hiaven, winner
A regeneration project with BPN Architects breathing new life into a derelict farm covering over 100 acres of land in the Cotswolds. The centre piece is an approximately 1,000m² single storey building, which provides living accommodation and exhibition space.
Rhodes House (Garden Pavilion), winner
A new pavilion with Stanton Williams, set within Rhodes House’s historic grounds, has been recognised for its curved timber lattice roof, supported entirely by glass walls.
Charlton Workstack, winner
The cantilevered cross-laminated timber structure with dRMM has been awarded for demonstrating timbers’ viability to create a new class of high-density industrial buildings.
Niwa House, highly commended
Designed in collaboration with Takero Shimazaki Architects to maximize space while respecting local height constraints. Inspired by Japanese architecture, the exposed timber frame reflects the elegance of traditional Torii gates, and the layered structure allows light to create a striking interplay of shadows.
