Situated within a busy section of Old Street, the new commercial building for HGG London with retail at ground floor and workspace housed on the upper levels is well underway.

The design was conceived as a kit of parts construction to enable a quick and efficient site works that suited the small site footprint. Due to there being a right of access within the site footprint, a cantilevering framed structure was developed that didn’t require extensive propping or temporary works, or a heavy podium type structure to enable utilisation of the full site footprint from first floor and above.

Working in close collaboration with architect Mary Duggan Architects, Webb Yates was appointed to provide the structural and buildings services engineering for the scheme.
