CEng MA MEng (Hons) (Cantab) MIStructE

Alex joined Webb Yates Engineers after graduating in 2011, and has since been involved in a wide range of notable and complex projects, including large schemes with substantial basements, lightweight steelwork structures, sustainable timber developments, and bespoke stone structures. He therefore has extensive knowledge working with a variety of structural materials, and a proven track record of working collaboratively to develop relevant solutions with the rest of the design team on projects that push the limits of structural engineering.

Alex is a strong advocate of sustainability in engineering. He is active in developing low-carbon tools and options on projects and leads the Planeteers, our internal climate action taskforce, instrumental in the evolution and implementation of our sustainability targets.

He is highly skilled with a range of CAD and analysis software, including AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, SketchUp, Oasys GSA and Revit, having utilised these tools to support form-finding, design, and analysis of some very complicated structures to create elegant, innovative and sustainable solutions.
