We are delighted that our effort to hike the Yorkshire Three Peaks was a huge success and we managed to raise £3,610.35 for our favourite charity, Practical Action.

On Friday, 6th of September 2019, the team set off from London to York in a minivan for a weekend of hiking, eating and board-gaming.

We were up before sun rise on Saturday, full of optimism as we embarked on our first ascent up Pen-y-Ghent. Unfortunately, the mist descended on us as we reached the summit and we couldn’t see past our frozen toes. Nevertheless, we trudged on, after all we had another two chances to see the views from high over the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. We reached the top of the second peak, Whernside at 12pm, just in time for some coffee tequila along with our sandwiches and left-over pizza from the night before. After a beer to help with the dwindling enthusiasm, we commenced the third peak, reaching the top of Ingleborough with two minutes to spare on our 12-hour target.

Fantastic effort team and flawless organising by the Webb Yates Social Committee. A mix of excitement and apprehension to see what next year's challenge has in store for us!

Thanks to all those of you who sponsored us. And if you were waiting to see if we would finish before you parted with your hard-earned cash, there’s still time to send us some money via our sponsorship page: https://www.justgiving.com/companyteams/webbyates3peaks
