We are delighted to have been shortlisted in two categories for the New London Awards 2019.

Our multidisciplinary project, Ilford Community Market and Hydroponic Farm was shortlisted in the 'meanwhile category' - 'projects that embrace the city as a work in progress, enlivening spaces, places and high streets over a short-term period, while supporting long-term ambitions'

Ilford Market and Hydroponic farm employs circular economy principles from concept stage through to detailed design and ultimately the running of the market and farm. The building, which will occupy a neglected surface car-park in Ilford Town Centre for five years, is designed to be dismantled and reconfigured on future meanwhile sites. Working with dMFK Architects, York House office refurbishment and extension has been shortlisted in the 'Workplace Category'- 'from office buildings to interiors to co-working hubs and affordable workspaces for making and manufacturing, new projects that create inspiring working environments and meet the needs of business, technology and the individual'

Making great progress on site, the existing building is extended at roof level with a new cross laminated timber structure clad in self supporting perforated zig zag brick lattice. The bricks are set on a 45 degree angle to give it stiffness and the result creates an aesthetically interesting street facing elevation.
