Becky Miller, Structural Engineer

Becky Miller 1

BEng

Since joining Webb Yates Engineers in 2020, Becky has gained significant experience on a range of projects, from small scale historically listed extensions and stone staircase designs, to a large-scale £70m iconic renovation on the Thames, and a large and complex private house in Oxfordshire with a two-storey basement.

She is experienced in designing in timber, steel, concrete, masonry and stone, and is interested in using these compositely in order to optimise both materials structural properties. Her experience informs her approach during the conceptual design stages; she is able to propose a range of low embodied carbon structural solutions. Becky is skilled in the use of parametric modelling tools, which allows her to design structurally complex arrangements more efficiently.

Becky graduated from the University of Bath with her Masters in Civil Engineering. During her education, she gained valuable experience through and industrial placement at an international engineering company, where she was involved in bridge inspections, specifying testing requirements for the bridges and then designing relevant remedial works. She was also involved in the tendering process for a new floating bridge.
